Term 1 composition - By Yu Xiang

An Accident In The Park

It was a bright and sunny morning.  It was the start of the school holiday.  Marry was very bored as she had nothing to do for the school holiday. As it was a bright and sunny, she decided to ride a bicycle in the park.  She phoned Lisa to ask her whether she could ride with her.  Lisa agreed without any hesitation.
When they reached the park, they could fell the breezy wind caressing their faces.  Children laughter travelled through the air.  Kites were soaring high in the air.  Families were lounging leisurely under the natural awning of the trees.  They were having a fantastic time with their picnic.
Mary and Lisa were intensely engaged in their conversation as they sped along the path on their bicycles.  As they were laughing with glee, Lisa did not notice a twig obstructing her way.  The wheels of her bicycle ran over the twig, causing Lisa to lose her balance.  To her surprise, she knocked into a little boy who came out of nowhere to retrieve his ball.  Lisa was flung out of her bicycle.  Lisa’s bicycle swerved to the left and hit Mary who was still on her bicycle.  A muscular man tried to stop the accident from happening but to no avail.  Soon many passersby crowded around the accident scene.  Lisa lay sprawled on the ground bleeding profusely.  She was moaning in pain.  Mary sustained superficial injury.  The muscular man immediately whipped out his mobile phone and dialed for the ambulance.
Within minutes, wails of sirens could be heard.  The paramedics sprang in to action without further delay.  They put Lisa, Mary and the little boy on the stretcher.  They rushed them to the hospital for treatment.  The nurse informed  Lisa’s parents about the accident.  The whole family descended on the hospital like a plague of locusts, demanding to see Lisa immediately.  They were worried about Lisa’s condition.
After a few hours of observation, the doctor told Lisa’s parents that she had suffered a concussion.  Upon hearing the bad news, tears started to roll down their cheeks.  They regretted letting Lisa go cycling with her friends.  They apologized to Mary and the little boy’s parents.  Fortunately, Mary and the little boy had minor injuries and were discharged on that day.  Lisa’s parents prayed that Lisa would regain consciousness soon.
After a month, Lisa’s parents received a call from the hospital, informing them that Lisa had regained consciousness.  Her parents heaved a sigh of relief.
